Primal Scream: Your views
Primal Scream
Primal Scream's first big hit was Loaded in 1990
Primal Scream won the first Mercury Music Prize for their album Screamadelica in 1992.

The band, fronted by Bobby Gillespie, went on to have considerable success throughout the 1990s.

"While it is easy to pine for the good old days, there is something wickedly attractive and engaging about the Primals' 21st Century dinginess," says BBC News Online's Michael Osborn.

But what do you think? Will this open them up to a wider fanbase? Or is it too dark and depressing?

Have your say

Primal Scream may be astute for the short-sited and rapacious music industry at the moment. However, this is a beautiful album that will stand the test of time. Can anyone really think of another British band that as been so innovative? Unfortunately because the record industry has become so standardised music as an artform no longer appeals to the masses.
Anthony Shenton, England
