US rapper ordered to stand trial
US rapper Young Buck has been ordered to stand trial on an assault charge for allegedly stabbing a man at a hip-hop awards ceremony in November.

Buck is accused of stabbing Jimmy James Johnson after he allegedly punched rap star Dr Dre at the event.

Los Angeles judge James Dabney found there was sufficient evidence to try the 24-year-old performer.

"We're confident when all the truth comes out he'll be exonerated," said his lawyer.

Buck, whose real name is David Darnell Brown, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault during the confrontation, setting off a chair-throwing fight that spread through the crowd.

The musician is signed to Dr Dre's record as part of the group G-Unit.

HIs first album, Straight Outa Cashville, went in at number three on the Billboard charts in the US last August.
