Duran Duran have just completed a UK tour

The show in their "spiritual home" of Birmingham will take place at the 28,000-capacity Birmingham City football ground on Saturday.

It will be the band's largest show since they played at Aston Villa's Villa Park ground in July 1983.

Duran Duran, whose album Astronaut was released last year, have just completed a sell-out UK tour.

'Amazing memories'

Band frontman Simon Le Bon said: "When we played Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre while on tour earlier this year we had an amazing and very special reaction from our home town fans.

"It's been a while since we last played a venue of this size in the city and we are really looking forward to this very special show.

"We have some amazing memories of Birmingham, which is where it all started for us. Birmingham is simply our spiritual home."

Duran Duran enjoyed chart success in the 1980s with songs such as Wild Boys, Girls On Film and Rio.

They split in 1985, but reformed in 2001 with the original line-up of Le Bon, bassist John Taylor, drummer Roger Taylor, guitarist Andy Taylor and keyboardist Nick Rhodes.
