Bafta honour for Monsters Inc
Monsters Inc
Stars like Billy Crystal provided voices for the characters
Animated movie adventure Monsters Inc has beaten Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings to win best film at the British Academy Children's Film and Television Awards.

Monster's Inc, which features the voices of John Goodman and Billy Crystal as main characters Sulley and Mike, won an Oscar this year for best song.

Meanwhile ITV1's Saturday morning show SM:tv walked off with best entertainment show at the ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel in London.

This is the third year the show has won the award, despite the loss of popular presenters Cat Deeley, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly to other high-profile projects.

SM:tv, now presented by Tess Daly and Big Brother 2 winner Brian Dowling, also won the Lego/Bafta Kids Vote award which was chosen by viewers.

Blue Peter's Matt Baker picked up the best presenter prize, ahead of his colleague Konnie Huq.

Sibling comedy

The BBC's Newsround Extra was recognised for its ability to convey difficult and complex issues to a young audience in its coverage of Afghanistan.

Teletubbies Everywhere, shown on CBBC, won the live action award, and ITV1's Eddy and the Bear won in the best animation category.

The best international programme was won by American comedy Even Stevens.

The show, which stars Shia LaBeouf and Christy Romano as warring siblings, is shown on BBC One.

The best drama award was presented to CBBC's Jeopardy, which follows a group of Scottish children as they travel to Australia to investigate UFO's.
