Grammy-nominated rap artist Remy Ma has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other offences after a woman was shot in New York on Saturday.
The 26-year-old, real name Remy Smith, appeared in court on Sunday.
She also denied charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon after turning herself in to police.
The victim, Makeda Barnes-Joseph, 23, was shot in the chest in the city's Meatpacking District in early hours of Saturday and is stable in hospital.
Police found a luxury SUV owned by Remy Ma, which had been involved in a crash, abandoned three blocks away.
'Open mind'
Prosecutors said the victim and the rapper knew each other.
Remy Ma's lawyer Scott Leemon said: "I ask everyone to keep an open mind. Things are not always as they seem."
The artist was nominated for a Grammy as part of the Terror Squad for the 2004 US hit single Lean Back.
