Jon Bon Jovi says he will pay any fine imposed on a fan who plunged into Sydney Harbour and swam to a floating stage where he was performing.

The 32-year-old man faces being fined by police after the incident during a free concert in the city's Darling Harbour on Friday.

He received a huge ovation from the 20,000-strong crowd after being hauled out of the water by his idol.

Bon Jovi recently launched their new album, Bounce, in Australia.

Planet Hollywood's $1m auction

Troubled restaurant chain Planet Hollywood has raised more than $1m (£640,000) from an auction of film memorabilia.

Among the highest bids was $207,500 (£131,000) paid by an unknown buyer for Bette Davis' 1935 Oscar for best actress in the film Dangerous.

The restaurant chain, which has filed for bankruptcy protection, sold more than 300 costumes and props in the auction at Sotheby's in New York.

It is shedding part of its 40,000-piece collection - including costumes worn by stars like Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn and Yul Brynner - after closing some of its restaurants.

Magnificent Seven actor dies

Actor Brad Dexter, who appeared with Yul Brynner, James Coburn and Steve McQueen in The Magnificent Seven, has died aged 85.

Dexter died on Thursday at his California ranch, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Born Boris Milanovich in Nevada in 1917, the actor-turned-producer also was known for his roles in The Last Train from Gun Hill (1959), Invitation to a Gunfighter (1964) and Von Ryan's Express (1965).

He was said to have been a close friend of legendary stars such as Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe.
