A League One reserve team football coach has been given a six-month community order after pleading guilty to an assault charge.
Ady Williams of Swindon Town was also ordered to perform 60 hours' unpaid work and to pay £60 in costs.
He appeared for sentencing in Swindon on Wednesday after admitting the charge in March.
The 37-year-old was arrested after an incident in the Old Town area of Swindon in November last year.
Mr Williams, a former Welsh international, joined the club in the summer of 2006.
Swindon Town FC issued a statement in which it said: "Following completion of the legal proceedings the club will consider its position before issuing any further statement."
