Joint op will halt illegal raves
Police in south-west England have again united in an intelligence-led campaign to tackle the problem of illegal raves.

Operation Hartley first ran last summer to halt festivals organised for people without tickets to official events.

It involves the forces of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset, Dorset and Devon and Cornwall.

It will take into account the Solstice and Glastonbury Festival celebrations in June, where large numbers of people are expected to visit the region.

Wiltshire Constabulary, which is co-ordinating the operation, said the aim was to minimise the disruption that raves cause to local communities.
