A charity is funding the visit of a mobile MRI scanner to clear hospital waiting lists in Wiltshire.
The Friends of Trowbridge Hospital and Community Scanner Appeal have raised the £6,500 necessary for the hire of the privately-owned scanner.
Around 40 patients will be scanned over the weekend, clearing waiting lists in the town.
The charity have raised over £13,000 to date for any patient who requires a scan in the region.
The money has been raised over the last three and a half years through various events, after being started by local councillor Jeff Osborn donating his £3,000 Mayoral funds.
The scanner owner's, Alliance Medical, says it is the first time a charity has funded the use of the machine.
The scanner will be located in a lorry in the hospital's car park for the weekend.
The closest MRI scanners for patients in Trowbridge are in Swindon and Bath.
