French urged to not accept work
French unions have been urged to refuse work transferred from a West factory.

A total of 150 jobs could be lost if the Nestle plant in Staverton closes. The firm claims it has been running below capacity for a number of years.

The Transport and General Workers Union says its French counterpart was considering the request.

A spokesman said: "Closure would satisfy the shareholders and corporate greed but it would be at the expense of the local workforce and community."

In February the firm announced it was to close the Wiltshire factory and move production to France.
