Wiltshire Police have issued a warning over distraction burglaries after two incidents in the past week.
A teenage girl kept a 90-year-old woman in Bourne Avenue, Salisbury, talking while a boy climbed in through a window and stole more than £100.
In Shrewton two men called at the home of an elderly, partially-sighted woman claiming to be water board officials.
They demanded £50 for wasted water but fled when the woman said she was going to call her daughter.
"Police continue to urge caution over any unexpected visitor to the house," said a spokesman for Wiltshire Police.
