The new yellow buses will cost £18.7m

US-style yellow buses will be transporting more children to school in West Yorkshire from this week.
The scheme has been extended to schools in Bradford thanks to a grant of £18m from the Department of Transport.
Following pilot schemes in Hebden Bridge and Ilkley, 30 of the buses have gone into service this week with more starting next year.
The aim to is give children a safe form of transport and to reduce traffic on the roads.
A spokesman for Metro, which is operating the buses, said head teachers had been enthusiastic as congestion at the school gates had been reduced.
