The quality of drinking water in the West Midlands is better than ever according to a new report.
The Drinking Water Inspectorate said 99.93% of tests in the region last year met the required standard.
The DWI's annual report says the water, supplied to nine million customers, is among the best in Britain.
Severn Trent, the region's biggest supplier, had the second best compliance rate of the nation's large water companies.
Sophisticated equipment
At the start of the year, higher standards were set by the World Health Organisation which are reflected in EU legislation.
The DWI's inspector for the Midlands, Peter Halton, said: "The water is cleaner and safer than ever.
"Samples are taken every day at treatment works, reservoirs and from customers' taps.
