Hospital visitors are being blamed by a health trust for spreading an infection that forced the closure of four wards.
New patients are being turned away from the James Paget Hospital at Gorleston in Norfolk because of an outbreak of winter vomiting sickness.
The measure has hit the James Paget Hospital, which serves people in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Corporate director Elayne Guest said older people are mainly affected "and visitors could be the source of it."
The closure follows similar moves at the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.
Mrs Guest said: "We've had two wards cleared of infection and the sickness has come back.
"This makes us think that visitors are to blame and we would be grateful if they would stay away if they are not feeling well themselves to prevent further infection."
