A Suffolk head teacher has criticised parents who allowed their children to miss a day's school to help at a pheasant shoot.
Dave Shorten, head of Stradbroke High School, spoke out in a newsletter to parents of the school's 350 pupils.
"There is no way such an absence will be authorised by the school," he said.
"Not only does the pupil unnecessarily miss a day's work but the payment he
receives is illegal." He asked parents to ensure it did not happen again.
"It might be tempting but
it's not on," he added.
