Council cash to improve 'eyesore'
A piece of land in Stoke-on-Trent which has been branded an eyesore by local residents could soon benefit from a cash injection from the city council.

The triangle of land between Chell Street, Barthomley Road and Cromwell Street is currently a dumping ground for old cars.

Local people also say it is unsafe because there are no street lights.

The council has £78,000 to help improve the area and has been looking for ideas from local residents.

A survey of people who live nearby found they would like the land to be turned into a car park and the council is now in the process of applying for planning permission.
