On-the-spot litter fines starting
Anyone dropping litter in two parts of Stoke-on-Trent can now be given on-the-spot fines of £50.

Three enforcement officers from the city council are patrolling Trentham and Hanford, complimenting police efforts against anti-social behaviour.

People who are stopped would then have 14 days to pay up or risk being taken to court.

The pilot project is expected to be rolled out across the whole city early next year.
