Town celebrates Nelson's victory
Lord Nelson

The small Somerset town of Burnham- on-Sea is preparing to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Lord Nelson's victory at Trafalgar.

Two pairs of specially-made wrought iron gates are to be placed on the seafront at Marine Cove Gardens.

Admiral Horatio Nelson came from Burnham Thorpe in Norfolk.

But deputy mayor of Burnham-on-Sea Neville Jones said: "There are nine Burnhams all told, so I don't see why we shouldn't get in on the act."

He added: "Besides, being by the sea, we are well aware of how the waves have shaped our nation."
