Householders in North Somerset have been urged to "be green" and recycle their Christmas rubbish.
The county council says bottles, cans, and jars can be recycled through the existing doorstep green box scheme.
It is also supporting the Woodland Trust card recycling project and is encouraging residents to use special boxes in WH Smith and Tesco stores.
Cllr Deborah Yamanaka said: "Rubbish from dustbins ends up in landfill which adds to your council tax bill."
Christmas trees can also be recycled by taking them to any of the council's civic amenity sites and putting them in the green waste skips.
