Town given say on pool's future
Members of the public are to be given a say on the future of the Tropicana leisure complex in Weston-super-Mare.

North Somerset Council is to hold two public exhibitions in the town on the options for the swimming pool site, which closed in 2000.

Cllr Alan Hockridge said: "We want to inform people about all the options being considered and are committed to listening to what people have to say."

The exhibitions will be held on 20 June and 22 June at the Winter Gardens.

Demolition

The council is considering a number of options for the site which range from a major refurbishment to demolishing it and putting it all back to sand.

It has made a shortlist of three potential developers, all from outside the immediate area.

These companies are due to present their proposals to a council working party on 15 June.

The working party will then use these presentations and feedback from the public exhibitions to draw up a report.

This is then due to be presented to the full council on 28 June.

The public exhibitions will run from 1600BST to 1900BST.
