Vandals strike at town cemetery
An attack by vandals on children's burials in Shropshire has been described as "sickening" by police.

About £2,000 of damage was caused at Newport Cemetery, late on Wednesday or in the early hours of Thursday.

West Mercia Police said wooden benches were broken up and burnt in the attack, in the children's section of the cemetery on Audley Avenue.

Officers said a group of youths were seen at the cemetery and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
