Wrekin landmark bid reconsidered
The Wrekin
The Wrekin is a hill which covers 126 acres
A consortium is considering making another bid to buy a famous Shropshire landmark before it loses the backing of the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The Wrekin, a hill which covers 126 acres and boasts a 1,334ft high peak, was put up for sale for £500,000 by landowner Peter Holt in June last year.

A group led by Shropshire Wildlife Trust bid £200,000 which was rejected.

The trust said they may have one more attempt before the lottery fund cash is withdrawn at the end of February.

The MP for The Wrekin, Peter Bradley, who helped co-ordinate the bid said they have not given up yet.
