Children win award for recycling
Pupils at a Shropshire school are being rewarded for halving the amount of waste thrown away at their school.

The eco group at Lord Silkin School in the Stirchley area of Telford have been recycling paper for the past 18 months.

The children have addressed conferences and other primary school children about their work and they now plan to expand the scheme.

On Friday they will collect a Nationwide Voluntary Endeavour award for their work.

The award scheme is run by Nationwide Building Society with support from the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and recognises individuals and groups throughout the UK who have made an outstanding contribution to their community.
