Hundreds of rat traps are being set in Oxford as part of a new campaign to battle the growing pest.
Numbers of rats and mice in the city are rising faster than the national average.
Health officials have responded by scrapping charges for getting rid of rodents from homes and investing in 200 new traps.
Oxford City Council's principal environmental health officer Ian Wright says rats pose a serious health problem, and everyone can do something to help tackle the problem.
