The latest part of Nottingham's biggest ever road improvement scheme is set to get under way.
From Sunday traffic will be banned from the top end of Burton Street near the Corner House as part of the £11.7m Turning Point scheme.
Traffic will be diverted along South Sherwood Street and Shakespeare Street.
The scheme aims to change the city's traffic flow to give greater priority to pedestrians and public transport. It should be completed at the end of 2006.
So far work has taken place on Upper Parliament Street and Maid Marian Way.
Turning Point project manager Bob Bolus said: "This is the first alteration in traffic flow as part of the scheme - there will be another major change carried out this summer.
