Schools' speed limit could be cut
Speed limits around schools in Nottingham could be cut to 20mph.

A city council committee is looking at proposals to change limits from the standard 30mph to try and cut the number of accidents.

They believe this would make parents and children feel safer and encourage more pupils to use bikes.

The council also plans to encourage more schools to offer cycling proficiency training and it suggests 20mph limits in all residential roads.

A council report said: "Until parents feel that road safety is paramount on the streets, they will not feel comfortable allowing children to cycle to school."
