A webcam will monitor the red kites in the woods
|
A £1m visitor centre has officially opened at a riverside regional park in Northamptonshire.
The Forestry Commission received a government grant to help build the centre in Fineshade Woods, between Corby and Peterborough.
The mixed broadleaf and conifer woodland is known for its success in breeding red kites and a webcam will go live when the latest chicks hatch.
The new centre will be heated by a wood chip burning system.
Also opening on the site is an RSPB centre, craft yard and play area.
