£50m makeover for county planned

Plans have been put forward to revitalise Corby town centre
Communities across Northants are set to benefit from more than £50m in extra investment for major building projects.

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister funding includes £25m for the West Northants Development Corporation to help regenerate its area.

Grants of £9m will go to Corby and £5m will go to Kettering to improve their town centres.

Wellingborough is to get £1.5m to improve the High Street area and £6m is going to help create jobs in Northants.

There is also a £3m grant for green-space projects. and environmental improvements in Raunds and Irthlingborough are to be funded with a £750,000 grant.
