Proposals to build five new primary schools as part of a multi-million pound Private Finance Initiative (PFI) scheme have been approved.
The scheme will see the construction of five new primary schools in Norwich and work to extend and refurbish the high school at Taverham in Norfolk.
Work is expected to start at Faversham in April.
Norfolk County Council has approved work on the £61m scheme, which is expected to end in September 2008.
The scheme will involve the amalgamation of 10 primary schools in the city to form four purpose-built primary schools at Heartsease, Lakenham, Norman and Northfield.
