Littlewoods' £1.25m hospital gift
Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool
Alder Hey said it was "overwhelmed" by the donation
Retail giant Littlewoods has donated £1.25m to Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

The Liverpool-based catalogue and high street firm has given the money to the hospital's Neurosciences Foundation.

The cash - which is the largest single donation ever received by the hospital - will help consolidate neurosciences services on one site.

Existing services for children at the Walton Neurological Centre in Fazakerly are being transferred to Alder Hey by the end of the year.

The hospital's chief executive, Tony Bell, said he was "overwhelmed" by the support given by the firm.
