Hospitals ban smoking in grounds
Smokers at two Liverpool hospitals may be told to get treatment elsewhere if they try to light up.

The Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Broadgreen Hospital will introduce the total bans in March.

Brian Goodinson, of the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust, said patients could choose to be treated elsewhere.

But the trust will offer advice to patients who want help and advice to give up smoking.

"We will give them whatever support it takes to give them the opportunity to stop smoking while they are with us," Mr Goodinson said.

"They may like to consider another hospital."
