Hi-tech spray to tackle burglary
New hi-tech sprays are being given to businesses in central London to tackle burglaries in a crime hotspot.

Up to 2,000 kits have been given to businesses in the Marylebone area of Westminster in the past few weeks.

The Smartwater spray can cover burglars with a solution that remains on them and their clothes for many months.

This solution, which is invisible to the naked eye, has a unique DNA profile which allows the person, if caught, to be traced to the premises they burgled.

Marylebone police, Westminster City Council and the Oxford Market Business Watch have joined together to launch the scheme.
