The plans go on public display in the last week of July

Plans have been announced to build the renewable energy plant on Boston Road to the east of Sleaford.

The station - run by Eco2 Biomass Limited - would generate enough electricity for 90,000 homes each year as well as 80 jobs.

The plans will be shown in Sleaford and Kirby La Thorpe in July. The planning application will be submitted to North Kesteven District Council in August.

A thorough Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been commissioned to evaluate issues including visual impact, noise, heritage and nature conservation.

Around 200,000 tonnes of straw will be burnt every year with contingency plans to burn limited amounts of clean wood.

The resulting ash will be cleaned and recycled to local farms as fertiliser.
