New allotments meet demand surge
More than 60 new allotment plots have been opened in Deeping St James to meet a surge in demand from the community.

The parish council has transformed a field in the Lincolnshire village into an area for gardening.

The opportunity to grow vegetables on the 64 strips of land were snapped up by keen gardeners in just a few months.

Judy Stevens, from the parish council, said: "It's tremendous that so many plots have been taken up so enthusiastically by people."
