GP night cover faces new changes
Patients in east Lincolnshire needing night time medical help will have calls answered by the Lincolnshire Ambulance Service from next week.

It is the latest change to the out of hours service for GPs in the district.

York-based company North Yorkshire Emergency Doctors Service which currently provides the service has just gone into administration.

Now those who need treatment are put in touch with either paramedics or emergency care centres staffed by GPs.

East Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust has said the only difference in service will be the phone number.

The ambulance service has been chosen because of its expertise in handling calls.

The out of hours service in the area has recently been questioned by some GPs who say patients have found it too complicated.
