Domestic violence rise identified
Five hundred incidents of domestic violence are reported to Leicester police a month, a new report reveals.

Two thirds are between couples and the remainder involve family members, vulnerable adults and children.

The number of reported incidents has increased in recent years although the authors believe this is because people are now more likely to come forward.

The report has been compiled by the Leicester Domestic Violence Forum so they can better identify those at risk.

It also includes violence in gay and lesbian relationships.
