Public drinking faces crackdown
A project to reduce the number of people drinking alcohol in public in part of Leicester has been launched.

An outreach worker will talk to those found drinking on the streets in order to encourage them to get access to welfare, advice and support services.

The programme targeting Asian men who misuse alcohol, follows concerns that cultural sensitivities make them too ashamed to seek help.

Police say they welcome a more understanding approach to the problem.
