Council votes on gas fight fund
A decision is expected to be made on Thursday on how much Wyre Council will spend on its fight to oppose plans to build an underground gas store.

A public inquiry will be held later this year into energy firm Canatxx's plans to store up to 2m tonnes of gas in caverns under the River Wyre.

The council formally opposed the plans at a meeting in February.

The full council will now be asked to approve £40,000 on legal fees plus £20,000 on expert witnesses.
