Residents in Medway who live in remote communities are to be given help in travelling around Kent.
As part of Medway's Rural Initiative for Transport, a pilot scheme starting on Friday will provide a bus service to places like Bluewater shopping centre.
The new service will serve people who would otherwise have to take several buses to get to their destination.
Medway Council has been awarded the funding by the government to help improve rural transport.
The first village to try out the scheme is High Halstow which is 20 miles from Bluewater. Many people without cars have never been there because there is currently no direct route.
