Virus hospital wants no visitors
Kent & Canterbury Hospital
The hospital is asking only immediate family to visit patients
Visitors have been warned to stay away from a Kent hospital as staff battle to stop the spread of a winter sick bug.

The Norovirus has hit more than 100 staff and patients at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital since Monday.

The hospital has asked for only immediate family to visit to stop the bug from spreading further.

Seven out of the sixteen wards have been affected. New patients are being admitted but only to wards that have been deep cleaned.

Debbie Weston said: "We can't stop people getting the bug", which causes vomiting and diarrhoea.

She said that they hope the worst has passed but still need to restrict activity in the hospital to help people recover and prevent further cases.
