Both cars collided with a tree

The crash happened in the early hours of Friday in Beverley Road when a Citroen Xsara collided with a Citroen Saxo.

The men have been questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Two of them, both aged 17, have been released unconditionally. A 23-year-old is on police bail.

Identification difficult

The dead girls, a 16-year-old and two 17-year-olds all from Hull, were passengers in the Xsara car.

Police say identification is proving difficult and is not likely to take place until Monday.

Another female passenger, aged 18, who was trapped under the Xsara, was said on Sunday to be in a stable condition.

The 21-year-old male driver has lost a leg was also stable.

Both vehicles are thought to have been travelling north when the crash occurred.
