The troubled cruise ship Aurora has left Southampton for a German shipyard where it will be repaired for 10 weeks.
P&O were forced to cancel a 103-day world cruise after problems with the ship's propulsion system.
The £200m liner will undergo repairs in the German port of Bremerhaven before returning to Southampton in April.
The company said it selected repairers Lloyd Werft as they have a proven track record with complex cases and are close to the motor manufacturers in Germany.
Passengers paid up to £41,985 each for the trip to 23 countries, but instead spent 11 days travelling around the Isle of Wight.
