Commemoration for Concorde staff
The work of RAF Fairford staff on the Concorde project in the 1970s will be commemorated with a special plaque.

The maiden flight of the first British Concorde landed at Fairford on 9 April 1969, less than an hour after taking off from Filton near Bristol.

The Cotswolds airbase was chosen as the site for trials of the supersonic plane by the Concorde Test Team because of its long runway.

On Saturday, former workers will gather to watch the memorial being unveiled.
