Four schools in Gloucester plan to work together to offer their sixth-form pupils a wider curriculum.
The partnership - between Beaufort, Central Technology College, Crypt and Ribston Hall - will allow year 12 and 13 students to chose between 32 A-levels, and a wider variety of other courses.
The move mirrors a similar scheme currently under development in Bristol.
Joy Greenwood, partnership co-ordinator, said: "This means that pupils can keep in contact with the tutors that they know and trust from their secondary schools.
"And at the same time, have access to a curriculum and resources that no one school could provide.
"It gives them flexibility to choose the combination of subjects that they want.
