BAA wants to boost passenger capacity at Stansted Airport
|
Campaigners opposed to expansion plans which could boost the number of passengers using Stansted Airport have launched a fundraising appeal.
Uttlesford District Council last week refused a BAA expansion application, citing nine reasons for refusal.
BAA will appeal against the decision and take the case to a public inquiry.
The Stop Stansted Expansion group has launched a campaign to raise £100,000 to pay for expert witnesses and legal advisors to challenge the plans.
The group said more that £10,000 had been pledged by members of the community before the appeal was announced.
