A crackdown has begun on illegal tippers who are blighting a seaside town in Dorset.
The Borough of Poole has already prosecuted two people this year for dumping garden and household waste on public land.
A council spokesman said: "It is an increasingly costly problem and when it occurs, it blights our beautiful town."
The council warns residents if they pay for someone to dispose of waste they must be sure the dumping is legal.
Councillor Don Collier said: "Fly-tipping is an anti-social activity which costs the community thousands of pounds each year to clean up.
"We want to encourage people to take pride in Poole and respect their surroundings.
