One-room chalet sold for £100,000
Brick chalet at Southbourne Beach
The chalet was sold in 1984 for £7,500
A one-room beach hut in Dorset which measures just 8ft by 14ft has been sold for £100,000.

The brick chalet at Southbourne Beach, Bournemouth, Dorset, with a view over Poole Bay but no toilet, has been sold with 54 years left on its lease.

The hut was previously sold 20 years ago for only £7,500.

Solicitor Joss Payne, who handled both the first purchase and the current sale, told the buyer in 1984 he "was crazy to pay" £7,500.

"But how wrong can you be?" he said.

"That's been a pretty effective investment."
