A cheeky seagull in south Devon has graduated from stealing food to taking mobile phones.
It happened at Teignmouth Lido during a session of the town's swimming club.
An instructor put down a black phone, when the gull swooped down, picked it up and flew off with it before dropping it on to a changing room roof.
The gull is known to staff at the pool, who described it as having a fondness for Mars bars. They think it perhaps thought the mobile was a chocolate.
One of the instructor's colleagues managed to retrieve the phone from the roof and it was found not to have made any calls.
