Customers at a fish-and-chip shop in Devon can now receive free access to the internet.
The Highfield Fish Plaice at Dunkeswell is helping Devon County Council ensure people in rural areas can log on within three miles of home.
The council says that 95% of its residents can now surf the web through a network of 47 community-based computers around the county.
They are based at pubs, shops, schools, churches and libraries.
The computers are part of a scheme to encourage more people in rural areas to access the online services provided by local authorities and national organisations - known as e-Government.
As a reward for achieving this, the county council is to receive a £250,000 bonus from the government.
