Council aims at 3.5% tax increase
Devon County Council is proposing a 3.5% increase in council tax, the lowest rise for eight years.

The budget, which goes before the full council later this month, includes an extra £20m for schools and £4.75m on affordable and supportive housing.

The Devon Pensioners Action Forum say this is still twice the rate of inflation and that a 0% increase is possible for this year.

Total spending will be £669m for the coming financial year.
